White Coat Ceremony and Freshman Family Day

Every year, the Parents Club for the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences puts on a number of events for the students at UAMS College of Medicine. Our White Coat Ceremony and Freshman Family Day are specifically for incoming freshman at UAMS College of Medicine to help introduce them to the community.

Here, you can learn more about both the White Coat Ceremony and Freshman Family Day.

White Coat Ceremony
Friday, August 5, 2022

Starts at 7:00 PM

Each new class of freshman is made up of around 170 medical students, and they celebrate the beginning of their journey through medical school with the White Coat Ceremony. Surrounded by family, peers, and mentors, this annual ceremony is steeped in UAMS College of Medicine tradition and emotion.

Each member of the freshman class will put on their white coat and make a promise to uphold everything that their coat stands for. This will be a memorable event for new students as it is the beginning of their journey towards becoming physicians.

The event will be held at the Robinson Center in Downtown Little Rock.

Freshman Family Day

Along with the White Coat Ceremony, freshmen at UAMS College of Medicine can join their family and friends at our Freshman Family Day. This is an annual event that consists of campus tours, speeches, presentations, and a luncheon. This will be a great opportunity for students to see the campus and meet their fellow UAMS freshmen with their family and friends. The exciting day starts at the I. Dodd Education Building, UAMS Campus.

There will be no Freshman Family Day this year.
