White Coat Ceremony and
Freshman Family Day

Our White Coat Ceremony and Freshman Family Day are specifically for incoming freshman at UAMS College of Medicine to help introduce them to the community.

Fall Fiesta

Throughout the year, the UAMS Parents Club hosts a variety of different events for students. One such event is our Fall Fiesta that is held annually by the UAMS College of Medicine Parents Club.

A New Fundraising Event coming in 2022

The Parents Club has only one major fundraising event each year. It typically includes a silent and live auction. We will be announcing a new fundraising event in the fall of 2021.

Match Day

Match Day is an incredible moment for students attending UAMS. Essentially, Match Day helps UAMS students get paired with the right residency program.

Typically, students will have a mandatory meeting on the morning of Honors Convocation that starts around 8:30am and ends by 11:00am for rehearsal and passing out regalia.  In the past, the Honors Convocation was held at Robinson Auditorium downtown. It began at 7:30pm. Students were expected to arrive no later than 6:30pm. Students could invite 11 guests. (This is 4 more guests per student that previous classes) Honors Convocation is a College of Medicine exclusive event and is dedicated to our students and faculty.  On Friday evening, students will receive any accolades and awards, receive their doctoral hoods and take the Oath of Hippocrates. The event is typically over by 9:45 depending on the keynote speaker.

Date to be determined - UAMS Graduation - 3:00 PM 2022 - Simmons Bank Arena, NLR

The cap/gown cost for students is figured into their fees so the students don’t see a direct out of pocket cost unless they order something additional like an extra hood, class ring, t-shirt etc. Parents who are faculty members that plan to participate in Honors Convocation and commencement exercises may rent regalia through our Faculty Affairs center. The only expenses that families will pay this year is possibly parking.

Commencement will be at Simmons Arena (formerly Verizon) and it begins at 10:30am on Saturday morning. Students need to be there no later than 9:00am to line up. UAMS will have free student parking for the first 500 students as long as they have their cap/gown in the car so carpooling is encouraged. Security applies to graduation just as it would for any Simmons event, so travel light and come early.

The Wyndam Riverfront is offering UAMS rates for family and friends traveling in to graduation.

Graduation invitations are available through Herff Jones.
